Statement on the U.S. and Canada Reaching Deal on NAFTA Renegotiations

EL PASO -  Jon Barela, CEO of The Borderplex Alliance, released the following statement today in reaction to the United States and Canada reaching a deal on the North American Free Trade Agreement:

"The U.S.- Mexico-Canada Agreement is positive news for the Borderplex region. A trilateral agreement was the optimal outcome for NAFTA renegotiations. I'm optimistic the accord will help bolster the Borderplex region's position as the 4th largest manufacturing hub in North America and continue the positive economic trends of low unemployment and regional economic growth. As a community built on free trade and globalization, we have a vital stake in ensuring North America remains economically competitive and open to trade. As this process continues, our organization will remain engaged and continue to advocate on the region's behalf."
